Do I have to have a Smart Meter?

Smart Meters are going to be in every home and business by 2020, so we are getting ahead of the rush and making sure that all of our customers have them installed shortly after joining us*.

How do you install it?

Once you have agreed to become a customer and the transfer is completed our metering team will contact you to arrange installation at a time that is mutually convenient†. The installation is done with the minimum disruption to your business and normally within the first 4-6 weeks of you joining us.

How do you install it?

Well, our Smart Meters are completely free for customers on a 3 year agreement. Should you however wish to opt for a 12 month agreement, then a charge is applicable for the provision of the meter.

My Premises is rented, am I allowed to change the meter?

Yes. As you are paying for the energy used, you have the right to change the meter - You may wish to inform your land lord out of courtesy.

What is the Climate Change Levy (CCL)?

The Climate Change Levy is designed to help achieve the UK's goal of a 20% reduction in carbon emissions by 2010. It's a government-imposed charge that is applied to a company's electricity and gas usage. Generally, businesses that pay the standard rate of VAT are also charged CCL (though there are exceptions). Businesses which are charged the reduced rate of VAT pay no CCL.
