When can I expect to receive my bills?

We send your Dual Energy bill at the early part of each month, either by post or email if you have opted for paperless billing. It will cover charges for the previous months electricity supply.

Why have I received an estimated bill?

If you have recently joined Dual Energy or are awaiting installation of a Smart Meter, you can provide a meter reading for an accurate bill. If we do not receive a reading, we will send a bill based on estimated consumption. Once we have installed a Smart Meter, readings will be taken automatically. In some instances, we may also have to issue an estimated or part-estimated bill for your usage.


What payment methods are available?

Budget Plan payment via Direct Debit is the only payment method available, which allows us to minimise our administration fees and pass this onto our customers through cheap supply rates. Direct Debit is the safest and most convenient way to make payment, and you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee at all times.

How do I apply for reduced VAT?

If your business uses an average of no more than 1,000 kWh per month of electricity you will automatically qualify as a 'de minimis' customer and reduced VAT rate of 5%. If it uses electricity for domestic as well as commercial, charitable non-business use, or residential care home, part of the supply will qualify for the reduced 5% VAT rate. To apply please complete and return our VAT declaration form.

How do I sign-up to paperless billing?

Contact our UK Customer Services on 01903 703400. All you need is a valid email address for a billing contact. E-billing is free of charge.

Why does my bill show a Climate Change Levy charge?

Climate Change Levy (CCL) is a UK government tax imposed on energy supplies (including electricity, gas, and coal). It is part of the government’s energy efficiency programme, designed to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. CCL was implemented on the 1st April 2001 and affects most businesses and public sector bodies that pay VAT at the standard rate on their energy bills.
